Forum Essay

On the October 24th 2008, I attended the Asia e-Government Forum 2008 held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. And, also attended the 2008 e-Government Gangnam Conference at the Grand InterContinental Hotel and Coex InterContinental Hotel, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

That was a great opportunity for me to attend the Forum and Conference. I realized e-Government could promote co-operations and co-ordinations among cities around the world and thereby supporting the implementation of a sustainable development worldwide.

So, we will develop more efficient e-Government systems. We can learn experiences from the e-Government using countries: Hong Kong, China, the United States and especially from Korea. By attending this conference, I realize that if we implement the e-Government, we will need Infrastructure, Information Resources, Service, Policy and framework of e-Government System.

And, we can emphasis by setting up administrative offices for citizens, setting up social services offices for citizens and establish the highly informative website. By doing so, the Government’s goal is to be proactive in meeting the needs of our citizens (G2C), business (G2B), and intra and inter government (G2G). The Government need to respond quickly to changing economic conditions and legislative policies.

In conclusion, I would like to say that I gain valuable ideas, suggestions and knowledge from the well-experienced Professors and expert from various countries. I will apply them to my thesis. Besides, I will follow such examples and attend special courses concerning. I hope I will get more and more technical know-how and expertise from the ICT experts from the Republic of Korea which is in the world front row in ICT field. Moreover, I will share ICT knowledge with my counterparts from different foreign countries during my study here. Lastly, I will be able to know not only e-Government and e-Policy and but also Korean People and their culture and traditions. I would like to express my sincere thanks again to those who organize this course and esteem professors.
